Medieval India Part I for History Optional

Part I of my History Optional notes for Medieval India has been linked below. I used Professor Satish Chandra's Medieval India and IGNOU B.A. Notes for the same. For topics that were not available in these sources, I used the internet (selfstudyhistory.com) to supplement my notes.  CJ's Medieval India Notes Part I (Units 13-18)

Ancient India Part II for History Optional

Continuing with the previous post, here are my notes for Ancient India (Units 7-12) for History Optional. The sources for these notes were Professor Upinder Singh's A History of Ancient and Early Medieval India: From Stone Age to the 12th Century as well as some internet sources (selfstudyhistory.com) for topics that I couldn't find in the book. As always, R.S. Sharma's Ancient India formed the basis of my notes.  CJ's Ancient India Notes Part II (Units 7-12)

Ancient India Part I for History Optional

These are the notes I made for Ancient India (Units 1-6). I referred to Professor Upinder Singh's   A History of Ancient and Early Medieval India: From the Stone Age to the 12th Century mostly while R.S. Sharma's Ancient India and IGNOU's BA Notes served as my base and supplementary readings respectively. I referred to the syllabus as well as the past year questions constantly while making these notes. Watch this space for the remainder of my notes! CJ's Ancient India Notes Part I (Units 1-6)

Maps for History Optional

Here's a list of places that I practiced marking on the map. Since one has to write 30-40 words about each of these places, look out for these sites while reading Prof Upinder Singh's book and jot down some points. Alternatively, you can also Google the sites and note down 3-4 points for the same. After specifying the geographical location of the site in brief, write points which bring out the historical significance of the sites as well as the archeological evidence unearthed. For instance, if you are marking Kannauj on the map, you could describe it in the following way- Kannauj - Located in Kannauj district. Capital of Maukharis and Harsha. Focal point of the tripartite struggle between Palas, Pratiharas and Rashtrakutas. Famous for the production of ittar. Ruled by Jaichandra when Mohd. Ghori invaded India.
